Priesthood Authority
The priesthood is the power and authority given to worthy men from God to perform ordinances and blessings. It’s common for priesthood holders to give fellow members of the Church blessings of comfort, healing, and guidance. Priesthood holders also have the ability to bless and administer the Sunday sacrament and perform baptisms and confirmations. Confirmation is when someone is confirmed into the church after being baptized and is given the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a spiritual companion. He guides, teaches, and influences us to make good choices among many other wonderful gifts. See Numbers 25:13 and 1 Peter 2:5.
